<div>
Welcome to my corner of the world! The city I am representing today is small, just like my country. You may not have heard of it, but when you see these photos of my city (Ålesund, Norway) you will see it is well worth a visit!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The city is located on the west coast of Norway and has beautiful architecture! The city burned down in 1904 and was rebuilt all in the Art Nouveau style - so cool! I don't live there anymore, but my mother does so some times I get to visit.</div>

<br />
And as you can see, the details are quite organic and not easy to translate to quilting patterns:) But I have tried and made a loose interpretation of one of the sunflower designs - looking something like this:<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/10104396644/" title="Art Nouveau Sunflower V2 by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Art Nouveau Sunflower V2" height="500" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3787/10104396644_8044430224.jpg" width="332" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<b><u>TUTORIAL - Art Nouveau Sunflower</u></b><br />
<br />
Materials needed:<br />
Printout of <a href="https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B56mwz5PsXd8ZHFGbm04ZXlKSDg/edit?usp=sharing" target="_blank">Template Page 1</a> and <a href="https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B56mwz5PsXd8V2V0OXNMZEl3OFk/edit?usp=sharing" target="_blank">Template Page 2</a><br />
Background fabric 9.5"x12.5"<br />
Scraps of fabric for large petals (A), small petals (B), center (C), stem (D) and leaves (E)<br />
Double sided fusible interfacing<br />
<br />
Step 1: Trace pattern pieces on fusible web, fuse to chosen fabric pieces, cut out shapes and peel off backing paper.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/10104323735/" title="ArtNouSunflowerStep1 by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="ArtNouSunflowerStep1" height="265" src="http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2824/10104323735_853fdcf365_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Step 2: Make a crease down the center of the background piece (fold long sides together).<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/10104367036/" title="ArtNouSunflowerStep2 by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="ArtNouSunflowerStep2" height="265" src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5473/10104367036_915fab771e_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Step 3: Place stem (D) onto crease, bottom of stem should be about 1.5" from bottom. Fuse in place.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/10104362876/" title="ArtNouSunflowerStep3 by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="ArtNouSunflowerStep3" height="265" src="http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2874/10104362876_9755da2ec3_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Step 4: Place large petals (A) in a circle, centered at top of the stem. Fuse in place.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/10104359046/" title="ArtNouSunflowerStep4 by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="ArtNouSunflowerStep4" height="265" src="http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2822/10104359046_4e133c7cf6_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Step 5: Place small petals (B) on top of large petals (middle of small petal will cover space between large petals). Fuse in place.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/10104356816/" title="ArtNouSunflowerStep5 by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="ArtNouSunflowerStep5" height="265" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3758/10104356816_a849d100c1_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Step 6: Place center (C) and fuse in place.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/10104275414/" title="ArtNouSunflowerStep6 by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="ArtNouSunflowerStep6" height="265" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3715/10104275414_700343a172_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Step 7: Place leaves (E) as desired and fuse in place.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/10104271794/" title="ArtNouSunflowerStep7 by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="ArtNouSunflowerStep7" height="265" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7299/10104271794_2dfc50127f_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Step 8: Stitch as you prefer around applique pieces and enjoy!<br />

I'm still alive! I just forgot how sick I can be of sitting in front of a computer after a full day of work... But I HAVE been sewing:) So I'm trying to get back into the blogging mojo, because I just love the blogger community.<br />
<br />
So... here are my current WIPS:<br />
<br />
Super Tote - I have most of the prep stuff done but have a few boring bits (steaming on interfacing) to do before the fun stuff (sewing) begins - hope to get this sewn up next week!<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/9203235650/" title="SuperToteFabricSelection by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="SuperToteFabricSelection" height="409" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7335/9203235650_2fa8e40014.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<br />
Mini quilts for Fat Quarterly Retreat swap - I have one done (to keep for myself) and am unsure if I should continue or start over. Although I think they're lovely (it's Liberty for cryin' out loud!) I just feel like the colors are bit to grown-up for me... Maybe a bolder embroidery would liven it up:)<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/9200453077/" title="FQR_Swap_blocks by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="FQR_Swap_blocks" height="446" src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5468/9200453077_2f98f0c5da.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/9200454043/" title="FQR_Swap_1_complete by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="FQR_Swap_1_complete" height="358" src="http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2807/9200454043_297c95c358.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Bee blocks - OK, these are actually done...<br />
<br />
Feather and geese for <a href="http://thelittlestthistlecraftshop.blogspot.no/" target="_blank">Katy</a> in the Stitch Tease bee:<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
Log cabin-ish blocks for <a href="http://live-laugh-love-sew.blogspot.no/" target="_blank">Marika</a> in the Happiness do.Good circle:<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
And some hand sewing - don't know yet what I'll do with these...<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/9200454769/" title="CaliGirlEPPstars by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="CaliGirlEPPstars" height="372" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7359/9200454769_0fc95364e4.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>

On one hand, I am not constantly tempted from sensory overload of rows and rows of glorious bolts of fabric. But on the other hand, when I do "go" shopping (online), I tend to buy lots and lots at the same time. This probably happens about 3-4 times a year. Good thing I have a decent job;)<br />
<br />
So here I am - I just received a sizeable box from <a href="http://www.fatquartershop.com/" target="_blank">Fat Quarter Shop</a>, and two other packages "may" be on their way... And I will even admit - this isn't the full content of that first arrival - it's only what I felt like carrying home from work on Friday. Good thing my husband doesn't read my blog;)<br />
<br />
Cute - two prints from Bake Sale and one from Noteworthy:<br />

<br />
Classy: two muted prints from Tw3ntyThr3e and a geometrical black from Comma<br />

Just because: really wanted to get my hands on some Simply Style ASAP and this is all that was out. Will have to conquer the Y-seam soon!

Now - on to see what others are buying - maybe they've got something I'm missing...</div>
Marithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09649298511088008357noreply@blogger.com18tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5955137607105861651.post-48779759990284675752013-05-13T16:33:00.002+02:002013-05-14T08:53:53.603+02:00Better late that never...Last fall, I purchased quite a few screen printed panels from Cat & Vee. I love their fun, colorful and quirky style! Cat is the most avid sewer/blogger and always amazes me with her bold color combinations and extensive range of novelty prints - always the perfect ones for each project. Vee may be a silent partner on the blog, but her graphic designs sure speak up for themselves. You really should check out their <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/catandvee" target="_blank">shop</a> and <a href="http://catandvee.blogspot.no/" target="_blank">blog</a>!<br />
<br />
<br />
So I had inteded to use some of these panels for Christmas gifts and as that clearly didn't happen, I now managed to make two of them into cushions for my nieces' 8th and 13th birthdays.<br />
<br />
<b>DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY</b> - for 13-year old<br />
<br />
The panel is framed by a small (neon-ish) green border and a frame of randomly placed HST's and solid squares. I love how this turned out! Wish I could keep it for myself...<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8733029996/" title="Dancecushion-complete by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Dancecushion-complete" height="377" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7281/8733029996_a508b949d9.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8733029502/" title="Dancecushion-complete-detail by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Dancecushion-complete-detail" height="332" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7293/8733029502_238ef69cc2.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
Due to some miscalculations the front panel came out too large and I had to chop off the edges. As you can see there are no points along the sides...</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8733028370/" title="Dancecushion-complete-sidedetail by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Dancecushion-complete-sidedetail" height="338" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7289/8733028370_e2d250bef3.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br />
<b>MR. PIPSQUEAK</b> - for 8-year old<br />
<br />
I was getting short on time and had to do a (much) simpler design on this one. But I still think it is very cute - the doggy is quite detailed enough on its ows!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8733028054/" title="Red-dog-cushion-complete by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Red-dog-cushion-complete" height="385" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7292/8733028054_6ffbf29fb5.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8733026058/" title="Red-dog-cushion-complete-detail by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Red-dog-cushion-complete-detail" height="332" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7283/8733026058_7ab146f504.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<br />
To make up for the simple front - I added a crazy print (from Trade Winds by Moda) on the back - which went over really well - yay!<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8731909433/" title="Red-dog-cushion-complete-back by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Red-dog-cushion-complete-back" height="429" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7281/8731909433_63a5ca9802.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So there - I was very happy to finish these up about 3 hours before their birthday party! Yes, I am a procrastinator...</div>

I am overwhelmed at the response and have enjoyed reading all your responses. There is no way I will have time to respond to all the comments, but I do look forward getting to know you when life on my blog returns to normal!<br />
<br />
<br />
So, I have actually been working on some projects the last couple of days. I have 2 nieces with birthdays this weekend and we're celebrating them tomorrow. I wanted to make them some cool pillows - I probably should have started earlier...<br />
<br />
<b>DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY</b> - for niece turning 13<br />
<br />
I really felt inspired on this one! Started with a printed panel (from <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/catandvee" target="_blank">Cat & Vee</a> - I'll share more about that awesome duo when the pillows are done), some solids and a very detailed plan.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8720442823/" title="Dancecushion-beginning by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Dancecushion-beginning" height="332" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7382/8720442823_b3b1c090eb.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<br />
During cutting I decided the teal had to be replaced by a highlighter green.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8720442165/" title="Dancecushion-cut by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Dancecushion-cut" height="408" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7384/8720442165_37ee2d0710.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<br />
Got the frame assembled and panel cut to size - looking pretty cool! Oh, no! The panel was cut too small! My seam allowances were way off last night.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8721564206/" title="Dancecushion-oh-no by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Dancecushion-oh-no" height="437" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7355/8721564206_7c98899f2e.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<br />
Phew! Fixed with a small neon green border. I love it!<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8721563542/" title="Dancecushion-top by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Dancecushion-top" height="476" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7311/8721563542_529f8769ff.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<br />
Now - just need to assemble the back and this baby is done (no time for quilting).<br />
<br />
<b>PIPSQEAK</b> - for niece turning 8<br />
<br />
Once again, started with a panel (also from <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/catandvee" target="_blank">Cat & Vee</a>) - this time of a super cute doggy named Pipsqueak, some solids and a polka dot print. Unfortunately, not feeling inspired, but constrained by my time limit...<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8720441443/" title="Red-dog-cushion-fabric by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Red-dog-cushion-fabric" height="428" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7339/8720441443_6f7f095878.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<br />
Worked my way out from the center (again, switching out one of the colors) and ended with this.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8720441069/" title="Red-dog-cushion-top by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Red-dog-cushion-top" height="332" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7432/8720441069_7a27a7a256.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<br />
I am telling myself that the adorable Mr. Pipsqeak is cute enough to make up for the simple design. I hope the recipient doesn't think we love her sister more...<br />
<br />
It's a good thing tomorrow is a public holiday here in Norway, because these need to be finished and wrapped by 4pm tomorrow and it's past today's sewing curfew (I can't sew after 10pm - it just doesn't end well)<br />
<br />

WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN A SEPARATE POST.</span><br />
<br />
Hi again! I am continuing to celebrate Giveaway Day!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.sewmamasew.com/blog2/march2013/GiveawayDayMay6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.sewmamasew.com/blog2/march2013/GiveawayDayMay6.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
So, I thought I should give away something I made, since that's a bit more personal than some fabric that anyone could get (although you gotta love free fabric !).<br />
<br />
I had grand plans and this is what I ended up having time for...<br />
<br />
<b>A super-cute bow clutch!</b><br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8710724699/" title="SMS-Giveaway-clutch by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="SMS-Giveaway-clutch" height="321" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8540/8710724699_6d1b618ac5.jpg" width="500" /></a><br />
<br />
One small and cute bow clutch. Main fabric is from IKEA, the bow is Kona Caribbean. I mainly followed <a href="http://prudentbaby.com/2012/04/hot-mess/accessories-hot-mess/zipper-bow-clutch/" target="_blank">this </a>tutorial from <a href="http://prudentbaby.com/" target="_blank">Prudent Baby</a>, but assembled the clutch according to the Perfect Zip Bag pattern from Elizabeth Hartman. It is my go-to bag/pouch pattern - it always works well!<br />
<br />
<br />
<b>Would you like to win it? Here's how:</b><br />
1) Leave a comment and tell me what is your favorite purse/bag pattern (could be one you've made or want to make). I've been wanting to make the Anna Maria Horner Art Student Tote...<br />
2) Bonus entry for followers - just leave an extra comment saying you are.<br />
<br />
Giveaway open to all and closes at 9pm Central European Time on May 10th. The winner will be selected at random and announced by May 12th.<br />
<br />
<br />
I you also want to win som fabric, go to my <a href="http://sy-elsk-lev.blogspot.no/2013/05/sew-mama-sew-giveaway-day-part-1-of-2.html" target="_blank">previous post</a>.<br />

In addition, I realized I have passed 100 followers (woo hoo, how do you do? Who are all you people?) so that also warrants a giveaway. Come back Monday to see what's up for grabs.<br />

<br />
<br />
Also, I want to say thank you to <a href="http://craftyshenanigans.blogspot.no/" target="_blank">Amy </a>for these items that I received in the Modern She Made swap on Flickr. Amy made me a stunning cushion cover and included a tea wallet with teas (yum) and some Union Jack Starbust candy (yum).<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
Do you see that she used Liberty fabric on the cushion and tea wallet? And the Union Jack label on the side of the cushion? I love that she gave all her gifts a British theme!<br />
<br />

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Thank you again, <a href="http://craftyshenanigans.blogspot.no/" target="_blank">Amy</a>! I have already started enjoying my sweets and teas:)</div>

I don't know what the customs are in other countries, but here in Norway it is our labor day - a day to do no labor!<br />
<br />
<br />
My main April project was a cushion for the Modern She Made swap. I finished it in the nick of time - getting in the mail on the very last day of April. Phew!<br />
<br />
The block pattern is the <a href="http://www.quilterscache.com/F/FloridaStarBlock.html" target="_blank">Florida Star</a> and the finished cushion is 16" square. I used Moda Grunge fabric in navy for the background and am really loving that fabric. If you think navy is the new gray and texture is the new solid, then this is the fabric for you! I know I "need" some more of it.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8698762664/" title="ModernSheMade-cushion-complete by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="ModernSheMade-cushion-complete" height="436" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8259/8698762664_d4cef04875.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I also made a little extra - a cute little 3" pin cushion - using the scraps from the pillow.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8697639437/" title="ModernSheMade-pincushion-extra by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="ModernSheMade-pincushion-extra" height="274" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8549/8697639437_5e12627146_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
And here's an extra photo, just because I like it! You can see my "primitive" hand quilting and the stripey fabric I used on the back.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8697639549/" title="ModernSheMade-cushion-folded by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="ModernSheMade-cushion-folded" height="381" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8542/8697639549_4bc1d98655.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I did throw in some Norwegian chocolates, but no photos of those. I hope my partner will be pleased when her package arrives!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<br />
I also started on a charity quilt for Siblings Together. I got all these half-hexies sewn together in a flash, but the finished size is a bit small, so I need to add a border.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8698762984/" title="LaDeeDa-half-hexies-top by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="LaDeeDa-half-hexies-top" height="500" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8409/8698762984_dc99d824be.jpg" width="467" /></a></div>
<br />
I want to use what I have, so I think it will have to be a yellow border. The colors in the hexies are really odd - I have nothing else like them in my stash! Except this yellow which is a secondary color in a few of the prints. Hope it will look OK!<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8698763124/" title="LaDeeDa-half-hexies-borderfabric by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="LaDeeDa-half-hexies-borderfabric" height="222" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8271/8698763124_b1d1ebf83b_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
So there - it doesn't look to bad on paper. Hope May is a bit more productive!<br />

Long time, no see! Sorry I have been M.I.A. - I'm alive and well. It's just that my sewing/blogging time and energy available have greatly decreased with a) going back to my full time job and b) being in the middle of a DIY home renovation project.<br />
<br />
But... I have been able to squeeze in a few sewing minutes, so I have some stuff for show and tell:)<br />
<br />
1) April block for Fat Quarter Shop's Mystery BOM - so pretty in pink, red and aqua:)<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8656360372/" title="MysteryBOM-Aprilblock by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="MysteryBOM-Aprilblock" height="500" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8114/8656360372_5cea255f75.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<br />
2) My first ever bee blocks - for the do.Good Happiness circle. I think this color palette is very sofisticated:)<br />
<br />
OK - I may have made a mistake in cutting the pieces for the geese, so their beaks and wings got a bit clipped. Oops! Well, I still like the block.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8655257221/" title="Happiness-April-block1 by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Happiness-April-block1" height="500" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8120/8655257221_ea74dbcf61.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8655256963/" title="Happiness-April-block2 by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Happiness-April-block2" height="500" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8107/8655256963_eacc54429f.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
3) A start to the Modern She Made swap item for my secret partner - also a new color combo for me. I hope my partner approves. I think it will become a pillow...<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8655256411/" title="ModernSheMade-block-WIP by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="ModernSheMade-block-WIP" height="500" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8113/8655256411_af1ac0f2fc.jpg" width="495" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
4) As I was cleaning my sewing room the other day, I found this stack of FQs of La Dee Da fabric that I never really liked... It's just not my colors. So I decided it will become a quilt for Siblings Together and got to cutting half-hexies with my previously unused Hex N More ruler. I think this quilt will be very cool and modern and perfect for a girl or teen.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

<span style="color: #a64d79;">Det er fortsatt kaldt og snø her i Norge og jeg skjønner godt at gjessene flyr i ring der sørpå i stedet for å vende tilbake hit.</span><br />
<br />
But on a more positive note - I finished my Double Circle of Geese mini quilt/table topper last week and surprised my grandma with it today as a late birthday gift. She loves flying geese (of the quilted variety), so this was perfect for her!<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8590504456/" title="Double-Circle-of-Geece-Complete by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Double-Circle-of-Geece-Complete" height="500" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8085/8590504456_e147bb3ab8.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
As I only had a layer cake (10" squares) to work with, I had to get creative to make the borders.<br />
<span style="color: #a64d79;">Siden jeg bare hadde en "layer cake" (10" kvadrater) å jobbe med, måtte jeg bli kreativ med bordene.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8589402333/" title="Double-Circle-of-Geece-Complete-corner by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Double-Circle-of-Geece-Complete-corner" height="409" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8240/8589402333_3c5a79328f.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I used more pieces from the layer cake on the back and added little corner pockets in case she wants to use it as a wall hanging.<br />
<span style="color: #a64d79;">Jeg brukte flere stykker fra "layer cake" pakken på baksiden og satte inn hjørnelommer i tilfelle stykket skulle henges på veggen.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: center;">

</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
You probably can't tell from the photos, but it took 11 cuts of fabric to make binding for this 21" square. So there are a lot of seams in the binding!<br />
<span style="color: #a64d79;">Det synes nok ikke i bildene, men det tok 11 stykker stoff for å lage lukkekant på denne lille duken. Det er mange skjøter i lukkekanten!</span><br />

(my Cherry Blossom quilt is done)Welcome to the <a href="http://tgiffriday.blogspot.no/" target="_blank">TGIFF</a> linky party! My name is Marit and I blog from the cold north (Oslo, Norway). I am so happy to have you here with me today and look forward to seeing what you all have to share!<br />

<br />
My TGIFF project is one I am truly thankful for having completed! I cut the pieces for this last July and was just a total slow poke at getting it pieced. I finally got the top assembled in February and splurged on getting it quilted by a pro. What a treat! It just feels so strange to have something I sewed so perfectly quilted... But I can get used to it:)<br />
<br />
So without further ado - here is my completed Cherry Blossom quilt! And yes - these photos are taken today. On snow. I said I lived in the cold north, right?<br />

It's my first time hosting a linky party, so I'm a bit of a nervous hostess. But I will do my best to make everyone feel welcome:)<br />

<br />
I started and finished a quilt - <a href="http://sy-elsk-lev.blogspot.no/2013/02/shine-bright-like-diamond.html" target="_blank">Starburst</a> (Shine bright like a diamond)<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
I finally completed my Cherry Blossom quilt top (started this last summer) and I think it's being quilted today (outsourced)<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8502428129/" title="Cali-cherry-blossom-top by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Cali-cherry-blossom-top" height="308" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8374/8502428129_b7526608b7.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I started on something small, just for fun<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8476992466/" title="Double-CircleOfGeece-Block-Complete by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Double-CircleOfGeece-Block-Complete" height="347" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8239/8476992466_c57e7203ee.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<br />
Did I make a birthday gift for my grandma? No comment. Her birthday hasn't been yet;<br />
<br />
<br />
<b>So what's in store for March?</b><br />
<br />
1) Finish my Cherry Blossom quilt (all I will need to do is sew on binding) - this will be my Lovely Year of Finishes goal<br />
2) Birthday gift for grandma - if it's not already done;)<br />
3) I really want to sit down and figure out how to use my new serger (which I bought in November)<br />
<br />
So nothing big - I hope I will have time to do some small, fun projects this month. It's the last month I'm home before becoming a working professional again. It will be strange to return to work, but good to start having a life outside the home again! My brain needs to think about other things than feeding, nap time and diaper changes. And I know the little girl will be in good hands - it's time for 12 weeks (paid) paternity leave for the mister. Yup, Norway's great like that:)<br />

It's the best quilt I've ever made.<br />
<span style="color: #a64d79;">Min Starburst quilt er ferdig og JEG ELSKER DEN! Det er den fineste quilten jeg har lagd noensinne.</span><br />
<br />
Let me share som photos with you:)<br />
<span style="color: #a64d79;">La meg dele noen bilder med dere:)</span><br />
<br />
The full quilt (sort of)<br />
<span style="color: #a64d79;">Hele teppet (nesten)</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8516759538/" title="Starburst-finished by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Starburst-finished" height="332" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8097/8516759538_c9c826e140.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<br />
Here you can see the quilting pattern quite well.<br />
<span style="color: #a64d79;">Her kan du se quiltingen ganske bra.</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8516756906/" title="Starburst-finished-hanging by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Starburst-finished-hanging" height="365" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8239/8516756906_674f38a3c5.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<br />
I used 2 similar prints from the fat quarter bundle to make the binding.<br />
<span style="color: #a64d79;">Jeg brukte 2 lignende trykk til lukkekanten.</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8516758266/" title="Starburst-finished-folded by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Starburst-finished-folded" height="408" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8523/8516758266_e6f4ceda49.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<br />
To get this finished today, I had to machine quilt the binding. I didn't like how much "flap" there was on the back and added a second line of top stitching to secure it in place, which worked out well.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
Love how vibrant this is!<br />
<span style="color: #a64d79;">Elsker hvordan fargene stråler!</span><br />

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The top is finally completed and so is the backing. I started cutting for these blocks last July, so it was about time! I am splurging on getting this quilted by someone else, so really it's not "in progress" by me right now.<br />
<span style="color: #a64d79;">Forstykke og bakside er endelig ferdig (begynte på denne forrige juli) og jeg har sendt dette bort for å få det quiltet. Så det er ikke akkurat jeg som jobber med denne nå.</span></div>

<br /></div>
<div>
<b>PROGRESS 2: Starburst</b></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Quilting is almost complete, binding is cut and I have a panel ready that I can use to make a label. Finishing this is my main goal for February - we'll see what I get done by tomorrow!<br />

Marithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09649298511088008357noreply@blogger.com19tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5955137607105861651.post-5137509623137733702013-02-25T12:31:00.001+01:002013-02-25T12:31:41.307+01:00Not my finest work...When the package arrived with February's Mystery BOM from Fat Quarter Shop, I immediately saw it would be a pain to put together. I love HST's for their versatility, but when many points meet up it's a pain to get them alligned and to make the seam allowances to lay flat.<br />
<span style="color: #a64d79;">Da pakken kom med februar sin Mystery BOM så jeg at den kom til å bli kronglete. Alle spissene som skulle møtes opp og så de bulkete sømmonnene...</span><br />
<br />
So here is my finished block - I did make a change in the construction and made flying geese out of the gray (as opposed to 2 HST's).<br />
<span style="color: #a64d79;">Så her er den ferdiglagde blokken.</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8503535526/" title="Mystery-BOM-block9 by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Mystery-BOM-block9" height="500" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8245/8503535526_78cbdfeff6.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<br />
The seams don't line up, the points are off/gone and it is in general very wonky and a bit bubbly, even after pressing the heck out of it.<br />
<span style="color: #a64d79;">Sømmene møtes ikke alltid der de skal og den er generelt litt skjev og bulkete (selv om jeg presset i vei).</span><br />
<br />
I'll leave it at that. When it's all quilted and washed, I am sure no one can tell. For now, I am happy to be on track with these blocks:)<br />
<span style="color: #a64d79;">Jeg lar det være med det. Når teppet er quiltet og vasket er det sikkert ingen som merker noe av det. For nå skal jeg bare være glad for at jeg er a jour med disse blokkene:)</span><br />

But when you first need to order something from overseas, you might as well fill up the package with a little more fabric. Am I right???<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So this is what made it's way to my mailbox this week - some cuteness from Riley Blake!<br />
<span style="color: #a64d79;">Så dette var det som ble levert denne uka (i tillegg til det off-white) - supersøte stoff fra Riley Blake!</span></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
1) Some yardage with no particular project in mind - LOVE the bunting and the diagonal stripe should make a cool binding for some future project!<br />
<span style="color: #a64d79;">1) Diverse stoff til stashen - DIGGER de små vimplene og det med de diagonale stripene blir nok en kul lukkekant!</span></div>
<div>

</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
2) A sweet plaid which I hope to make into a summer dress for my girl and some pom-pom and lace trims that were too cute to pass up:)<br />
<span style="color: #a64d79;">2) Et søtt rutete stoff som jeg håper blir til en sommerkjole for lillejenta og noen pom-ponger og blonder some jeg bare måtte ha:)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
I will let you know that I ordered these supplies from fabric.com - a web site I sometimes love and sometimes don't... They do have good prices and a large selection of fabrics, but their service level has been varying greatly. Sometimes my order is packed, shipped and on my doorstep within 2-3 days (when I pay for UPS). Other times they don't have the items I ordered and it takes a week just to get it out their door. Which happened this time...<br />
<span style="color: #a64d79;">Jeg handlet fra www.fabric.com - en butikk jeg av og til elsker og av og til elsker ikke... De har gode priser og stort utvalg, men litt varierende servicenivå.</span><br />
<br />
With my fellow fabric-aholics, I am linking up to <a href="http://findingfifth.blogspot.no/2013/02/1st-anniversary-sunday-stash.html" target="_blank">Sunday Stash #52</a> with Fiona of Finding Fifth. It's my first time confessing my fabric purchases and it feels goooood!Marithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09649298511088008357noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5955137607105861651.post-75554448042470607312013-02-15T19:52:00.000+01:002013-02-15T19:52:38.131+01:00Come geese, come springGeese coming back from their winter migration is a good sign of spring, but I still haven't seen any. Maybe because they're all flying in circles???<br />
<span style="color: #a64d79;">Gjess på vei tilbake fra vinterferie er et godt tegn på vår, men jeg har ikke sett noen ennå. Kanskje fordi de alle flyr i ring???</span><br />
<br />
THE GOOD: A completed double circle of flying geese<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
THE BAD: Be careful removing freezer paper - it can fray your edges!<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8475902815/" title="Double-CircleOfGeece-Frayed by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Double-CircleOfGeece-Frayed" height="371" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8521/8475902815_ce3c85e021.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<br />
THE UGLY: Ooofff - I've got a mess to clean up!<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
REWARD: Seams matching up perfectly (sorry to boast!)<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

Hope you're all having a great weekend!</div>

Hope to get this basted this weekend, but need to get some backing material.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8470832128/" title="Starburst-quilt-top by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Starburst-quilt-top" height="433" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8368/8470832128_786679dff0.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Note: You may notice that this is laying on snow outside our house - the only clean/tidy place with good lighting I could find. And when looking at this photo I wonder how the makers of fabric decide what the color of "snow" is. Kona's isn't too bad, but Moda's Bella Solids in Snow really looks like snow someone peed on...<br />
<br />
<br />
<b>NEW WIP:</b> A little paper pieced block with a double ring of flying geece. I was thinking perhaps this would turn into a cushion, but knowing that the other members of the household won't treat it with the respect it deserves, I am thinking this might turn into a mini quilt. Maybe for my future new sewing room (my current sewing room is in the attic and has all angled walls = no space for design wall or hanging fun mini quilts AND super cold in the winter and super hot in the summer).<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8469738959/" title="Double-CircleOfGeece-WIP by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Double-CircleOfGeece-WIP" height="332" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8512/8469738959_4c8c1dc222.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I think it's slightly ironic that one of the quotes I managed to capture was "be bold". This fabric line (Odds & Ends) doesn't exactly feel bold to me.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8470832378/" title="Double-CircleOfGeece-BeBold by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Double-CircleOfGeece-BeBold" height="320" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8390/8470832378_8696f6f251_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So that's what I've been working on this last week. Linking up like so many of you to WiP Wednesday at <a href="http://www.freshlypieced.com/" target="_blank">Freshly Pieced</a>.</div>

I was more than happy with reaching all my <a href="http://sy-elsk-lev.blogspot.no/2013/01/january-roundup-completions-and-wips.html" target="_blank">January goals</a> and I think I should be realistic about what I'll have time for in the next 3 weeks (considering we are in the middle of DIY renovating the first floor of our house).<br />
<br />
1) Finish Starburst quilt - all the way - start and finish a quilt in a month - can I do it?<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8450633190/" title="Starburst-allblocks by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Starburst-allblocks" height="400" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8233/8450633190_8ca17805b2.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<br />
2) Finish California Cherry Blossom top and back and send off to get quilted - this should be very do-able!<br />
<br />
3) Finish/make birthday gift for my grandma - either finish the planned Christmas gift that got put on hold or make something totally new - wonder which it will be?<br />
<br />
<br />
There - the list has been made. I'm kind of feeling like I've been showing/working on the same stuff a lot lately. So my thought about March is that I want to work on several smaller projects. Maybe I'll just start 10 projects at once, just to have some more variation. We'll see:)<br />

<b>OLD WIP: California Cherry Blossom</b><br />
<br />
After finally making some progress on this (I think I made the first block last summer), I was quite annoyed to see that one of my rows did a switch-a-roo on me and now my yellows are in a V and not on the diagonal. A necessary evening with the seam ripper hasn't appealed to me yet...<br />

<span style="color: #a64d79;">Det begynte med at jeg så dette stoffet og tenkte "babyteppe":</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8448936278/" title="Salt-Air-bubbles by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Salt-Air-bubbles" height="337" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8475/8448936278_15ae42e715.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Specifically, I thought the fabric line - Salt Air by Cosmo Cricket for Moda - would be perfect for a quilt for my nephew (who I didn't know yet would be a nephew so I wanted something gender neutral). For some reason I ordered the full fat quarter bundle even though that was way more than I would need and I was in no way in love with the fabric.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.quiltedworks.com/imagebrowser/view/image/1800/_original" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://www.quiltedworks.com/imagebrowser/view/image/1800/_original" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The fabrics arrived and they were nice, but a bit too much blue and green for my general taste. Then my sister-in-law said she preferred a more gender specific option I shower her and I had this huge pile of fabric with no purpose. And I wasn't really sure I loved it all that much. Waste of money, I thought to myself.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
About a month later <a href="http://canadianabroad-susan.blogspot.no/" target="_blank">Susan</a> showed this triangle quilt on her blog and the fabric all of a sudden appealed to me again. And I realized that despite the bubbles, this did not need to be used for a child's quilt.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYiqGK33lDtiflKeEwMk3cQvGRcgf0VkzJ1zXpTtuw6Q3tCZD63odhbM-lr8Tu3f_BxgmGKDERAvn_cdV6kF9DfAxhF9W-bXMPwHflWKY5IjC6odml-jPOUg-bUoWZ0g_ywlFB-TS71fw/s1600/pic+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="272" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYiqGK33lDtiflKeEwMk3cQvGRcgf0VkzJ1zXpTtuw6Q3tCZD63odhbM-lr8Tu3f_BxgmGKDERAvn_cdV6kF9DfAxhF9W-bXMPwHflWKY5IjC6odml-jPOUg-bUoWZ0g_ywlFB-TS71fw/s320/pic+3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>Photo from Susan's blog post <a href="http://canadianabroad-susan.blogspot.no/2013/01/a-quilters-hug.html" target="_blank">here</a>.</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So I started cutting into it for my Starburst quilt - so far I only have a photo of one block laid out to show, but I do have all 4 blocks sewn together.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #a64d79;">Så jeg begynte å bruke de i Starburst teppet jeg jobber med.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sy-elsk-lev/8444556104/" title="Starburst-block1-layout by Sy-elsk-lev, on Flickr"><img alt="Starburst-block1-layout" height="373" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8326/8444556104_4f6e692898.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And then I saw this pillow made by <a href="http://simplymissluella.blogspot.no/" target="_blank">Deborah</a>:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #a64d79;">Så fikk jeg øye på denne puten lagd av <a href="http://simplymissluella.blogspot.no/" target="_blank">Deborah</a>:</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTqCI1G5vc_epeVZF8QKdzklswTAyZEiM6EthXjxMu_OLneaECMhCXxfs_qvpvfJ7_tQlPwH4BTygkNDyz4T8ZEYge6hD8sidX3C5F-3pZfyctsHFDrCS3ympw7xexXsRR7z4VZOPjt2o/s400/IMG_1026.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTqCI1G5vc_epeVZF8QKdzklswTAyZEiM6EthXjxMu_OLneaECMhCXxfs_qvpvfJ7_tQlPwH4BTygkNDyz4T8ZEYge6hD8sidX3C5F-3pZfyctsHFDrCS3ympw7xexXsRR7z4VZOPjt2o/s320/IMG_1026.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>Photo from Deborah's blog post <a href="http://simplymissluella.blogspot.no/2013/02/what-another-pillow.html" target="_blank">here</a>.</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Which makes me think "maybe I love this fabric". And it's a good thing, because I have A LOT of it left!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #a64d79;">Som fikk meg til å lure på om jeg faktisk elsker dette stoffet. Og det er jo bra for jeg har MASSE av det!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="http://canadianabroad-susan.blogspot.no/" target="_blank">Susan</a> called the fabric deceptive - it doesn't look like much until you actually put it to use and then it somehow comes to life.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="http://canadianabroad-susan.blogspot.no/" target="_blank">Susan</a> <span style="color: #a64d79;">kalte stoffet misvisende - det ser ikke ut som noe spesielt før man faktisk bruker det og det vekkes til live.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Yes, it had me fooled!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #a64d79;">Ja, jeg ble lurt!</span></div>
