Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day - Part 2 of 2 - Handmade

UPDATE: GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED AT 178 COMMENTERS. WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN A SEPARATE POST.

Hi again! I am continuing to celebrate Giveaway Day!

So, I thought I should give away something I made, since that's a bit more personal than some fabric that anyone could get (although you gotta love free fabric !).

I had grand plans and this is what I ended up having time for...

A super-cute bow clutch!
SMS-Giveaway-clutch

One small and cute bow clutch. Main fabric is from IKEA, the bow is Kona Caribbean. I mainly followed this tutorial from Prudent Baby, but assembled the clutch according to the Perfect Zip Bag pattern from Elizabeth Hartman. It is my go-to bag/pouch pattern - it always works well!

Would you like to win it? Here's how:
1) Leave a comment and tell me what is your favorite purse/bag pattern (could be one you've made or want to make). I've been wanting to make the Anna Maria Horner Art Student Tote...
2) Bonus entry for followers - just leave an extra comment saying you are.

Giveaway open to all and closes at 9pm Central European Time on May 10th. The winner will be selected at random and announced by May 12th.

I you also want to win som fabric, go to my previous post.

Giving and receiving

Monday is Giveaway Day hosted by Sew Mama Sew. In addition, I realized I have passed 100 followers (woo hoo, how do you do? Who are all you people?) so that also warrants a giveaway. Come back Monday to see what's up for grabs.

Also, I want to say thank you to Amy for these items that I received in the Modern She Made swap on Flickr. Amy made me a stunning cushion cover and included a tea wallet with teas (yum) and some Union Jack Starbust candy (yum).

ModernSheMade-received!

Do you see that she used Liberty fabric on the cushion and tea wallet? And the Union Jack label on the side of the cushion? I love that she gave all her gifts a British theme!

Thank you again, Amy! I have already started enjoying my sweets and teas:)

TGIFF! (my Cherry Blossom quilt is done)

Welcome to the TGIFF linky party! My name is Marit and I blog from the cold north (Oslo, Norway). I am so happy to have you here with me today and look forward to seeing what you all have to share!

My TGIFF project is one I am truly thankful for having completed! I cut the pieces for this last July and was just a total slow poke at getting it pieced. I finally got the top assembled in February and splurged on getting it quilted by a pro. What a treat! It just feels so strange to have something I sewed so perfectly quilted... But I can get used to it:)

So without further ado - here is my completed Cherry Blossom quilt! And yes - these photos are taken today. On snow. I said I lived in the cold north, right?

And just to add to the Friday fun, I'm giving away a charm pack of Reunion by Sweetwater to one of you who link up (no matter where you live). I think this fabric is awesome, but I just can't find a project for it - so I hope one of you can give it some sewing love!

Now - let's get this party started! Link up your finished beauties and then visit with the other party guests (don't be a party pooper). Please include a link back to this post and/or include the TGIFF button (found here) in your blog post so your visitors can come join the party.

Pay it Forward recipients

Recipients for the Pay it Forward giveaway/swap are:
Not so hard to choose, as they were the only 3 who wanted in:)

And since Melissa (who is paying it forward to me and probably doesn't want in on another round), left a comment - she will get payback! Mwa ha ha! (Yes, I feel very witty.)

Ladies, I will be getting in touch with you to get your mailing addresses.

Happy Monday!

Pay it Forward - a handmade swap

EDIT: Sign-ups are now closed

A little while ago (I'm a bit embarrased to say how long) I was selected to receive a handmade gift from Melissa of issa.ino: handmadeas a part of a Pay it Forward handmade gift "exchange".

Would you like to receive a handmade gift from me for no reason other than to spread some love?
If you do - here are the rules (very few strings attached):
  1. I will create a handmade gift for 3 randomly chosen people who leave a comment below. The item will be a surprise and will arrive to you within the next 365 days.

  2. In signing up for Pay it Forward, you are committing yourself to the project (if you are chosen, but feel free to start your own chain if you're not chosen)... someone pays it forward to you, then you must pay it forward to others!

  3. You need to have an active blog of your own or some way to post your PiF info like flickr, pinterest, facebook or twitter. Basically you'll need a place to announce your own PiF and to post some photos of the process.

  4. If you are chosen, post something similar on your blog/selected platform so you can spread the Pay it Forward love. I'll email you asking for your mailing address (and your blog/facebook/twitter/etc address where you'll be spreading the love). Please make sure your email address is visible on your profile or leave it in the comment so I can get ahold of you if chosen.
In simple terms, if you are chosen, you have to keep the chain going by writing a similar post on your blog (or other platform) and make 3 gifts within 1 year.

So you want to play? Leave a comment below and 3 of you will be randomly selected on Sunday November 4th. I'll update this post when I do the draw.

Now, wonder what Melissa is making for me... How many more days must I wait, I wonder...
