NEW WIP: A little paper pieced block with a double ring of flying geece. I was thinking perhaps this would turn into a cushion, but knowing that the other members of the household won't treat it with the respect it deserves, I am thinking this might turn into a mini quilt. Maybe for my future new sewing room (my current sewing room is in the attic and has all angled walls = no space for design wall or hanging fun mini quilts AND super cold in the winter and super hot in the summer).
So that's what I've been working on this last week. Linking up like so many of you to WiP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced.
STILL loving your starburst quilt - it's gorgeous! And I so agree about the 'snow' fabric thing - the first time I ordered it I thought it would be dazzling white! your paper piecing is beautiful and love the colours you have used.
ReplyDeleteLove your comment about the snow as I was looking at my Kona Snow recently thinking much the same thing - real snow does not have a yellowish tinge even I really like the shade of fabric.
ReplyDeleteBoth are lovely, and both are fabric lines I have on the go at the moment. I really really love Salt Air! And it looks great in your Starburst quilt :)
ReplyDeleteI love the way you are using your Odds and Ends fabric - it's going to be really pretty and your piecing is so neat! You are right about the pee snow. It's a nice colour but they should have called it something else:-)
ReplyDeleteYour Starburst looks amazing! I am a big fan of flying geese too! Kona snow is my absolute favourite, but I remember buying Bella snow and being horrified by the pee colour! I even e-mailed the shop I got if from wondering if they sent me the wrong fabric!
ReplyDeleteMay not be bold, but your sewing is very "crisp"! I like what you're doing, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI just discovered your blog from WIP Wednesday. Love your Starburst quilt and your flying geese are amazing--so precisely pieced. We live in the US but my husband had a Norwegian grandfather.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm loving the color palette you're using for your flying geese block!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful projects Marit. Your piecing is so precise and crisp. I love the colors of the Odds and Ends line. Might not be bold, but it is pretty and shows very well on your flying geese. I'm looking forward to the finished project.
ReplyDeleteYour Odds & Ends blocks are so crisply pressed - wow! I love your comment about "not treated with respect", while I want quilty things to be used some need to be protected from misuse. Especially pristine white things!
ReplyDeleteI love your starburst blocks! Can't wait to see it done.
ReplyDeleteThe Starburst quilt is beautiful and I love the flying geese - I have both of these bookmarked to do one day...
ReplyDeleteHehe, I know what you mean about Bella Snow. You have to take these names with a big ole grain of salt, I think. Your starburst is great, and I love how the circle of flying geese is looking!
ReplyDeleteLove your Starburst! I hope to finish my top tonight. And your flying geese look awesome.

ReplyDeleteLove your quilts (I have the Saltwater line too: it's lovely), and I love your comment about the Pee colored "Snow" fabric!! :-P That snow your quilt is on must be pretty dry snow for you to brave your quilt on! :-) I'll check back to see how you decided to quilt it: I'm trying to figure that one out myself. Have a great week!
